The History of the House of Dra
I began designing and creating wearable art in the 1960s, before the cult of Renaissance faires. At the founding of The Texas Renaissance Festival, I built my first permanent shop, which remains to this day.
I am committed to making great wearable art to carry you with comfort on incredible sojourns.
Whether you are a gamer, performer, or any type of wanderer of this planet, you will find that my garments are made with honor and high quality, using the finest U.S. organic cotton and 100% silk fabrics.
How we Make our Unique All Natural Fiber Clothing
Made in the U.S.A. with exceptional quality of construction is what makes the House of Dra's Renaissance clothing special. All seams are flat-felled and finished, making a strong seam. The coated shed antler buttons are hand-sewn and vary to make each buttoned shirt unique. Every shirt is 'signed' by Lady Dra.
The All Natural Fiber Cottons We Use
The all natural, non-defoliated, organic cotton cut for the House of Dra is 100% domestic cotton approved by the U.S. Cotton Growers' Association. Our cotton is a custom weave that is milled and dyed especially for the House of Dra. This natural breathing cotton is perfect in any climate, pre-shrunk and, best of all, machine washable.
We recommend cold water washing with no bleach to be kinder to this special fabric. Of course, you may hand wash with Woolite. Simply hang to dry. If you use a dryer, please set it on 'low'.
Our all natural fiber Silk Noil Renaissance clothing should also be washed in cold water. Hang dry or use a 'low' dryer setting.
Did you know...?
