Renaissance Festival - Located just north west of the Houston area near Plantersville, Texas, this may be the Nations largest Renaissance Festival. They offer patron camping which is a great time, as you really need a full weekend (or LONGER) to check out all this faire has to offer.
The Texican Privateers - Formed out a need when it twir discovered that nary one pirating group could be found in the Houston/Galveston area, let alone the entire South East Texas area. So several mates who 'ave been piratin' around for years doin' comedy swordfights, pub sings, other forms of reenacting and a basic love for history and the sea, joined together one night. (I must say after quit a bit of rum) and the Texican Privateers were born.
